Dragan Podovac is a talented Slovenian artist born in 1953 in Vrnjačka Banja, Serbia. He moved to Slovenia in 1976, where he lives with his family in a quiet suburb of Šentjur. From a young age, Podovac showed a great interest in painting, developing his passion over time.
Podovac is known for his natural landscapes and traditional architecture, combining realism and visual poetry. His works often depict rivers, lakes, trees, and vases with roses, using warm and pleasant colors. He has exhibited his works in solo and group exhibitions, receiving widespread acclaim for his artistic sensitivity.
He participates in numerous artist colonies and is an excellent organizer. Podovac is also the president of the cultural association DLU-Rifnik Šentjur, founded in 1997. His art celebrates the Slovenian landscape and invites viewers to explore and appreciate nature with all its gifts.
I had the privilege of meeting Podovac personally in Slovenia and owning one of his works. His brushstrokes, often enriched by the use of a trowel, bring energy to the landscapes, making them vivid and tangible. His works reflect his open and pleasant character.
His solo and group exhibitions have received widespread acclaim, highlighting his artistic sensitivity. Podovac’s works celebrate the Slovenian landscape, inviting viewers to explore and appreciate nature with all its gifts. Each painting is a homage to nature, crafted with meticulous care.
His painting reminds me of my art master Giuseppe Buttieri, who invited me to silent reflection and the joy of observing nature. Dragan Podovac is a visual poet who encourages us to think about the beauty and fragility of our natural world. His art is a tribute to the peace and tranquility of nature and an invitation to protect our planet.
