Marco Locatelli was born in Mozzo and lives in Ponte San Pietro (Bergamo). A self-taught painter, his innate passion for painting grew and strengthened thanks to the support of painter Lazzari, whose studio he frequented. After his beginnings in the late 1970s, life events forced him to take a break in 1980. He resumed with a new solo exhibition in 2011. In the following years, he held several exhibitions and other shows. In the last nine years, he has held ten solo exhibitions in addition to many group shows, and has exhibited in various locations in Italy and abroad (Rome, Milan, Bergamo, Cremona, Forte dei Marmi, Spoleto, Gubbio, Arona, Zurich, Paris). His works have also been awarded in several competitions, including winning the International Michelangelo Buonarroti competition (Seravezza, Lu) in the editions of 2016, 17, 18, and 22. In 2017, with a group of artists, he founded the association "UN FIUME D'ARTE," of which he is now the vice president. The association aims to provide space and opportunities for artists, whether they are well-known or not, as well as to recover and promote local artistic heritage in collaboration with other national-level associations such as FAI. His works have recently been collected and published in three personal volumes, and several industry magazines have featured his works. In 2024, the magazine "La Ballata," which has been covering culture at a national level for forty years, dedicated not only the central pages but also the cover to him.
