





Idriz Berisha was born in Dobërdol, Klina (Kosovo) in 1953.
He attended the Art School in Peja while the Academy of Arts in Pristina. From 1972 to 1999, he worked as a Professor in several schools in the Municipality of Klina and cultural officer at the Directorate of Culture UNTIL, he retired in 2017. As a painter he is involved in the Albanian art streams from the 1980s through joint and personal exhibitions in SHAFAK (Association of Figurative and Applicative Artists of Kosovo and in numerous cultural associations, such as: Kosovo, Albania, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, France, Germany, etc. Idriz Berisha is the winner of many national and international awards:
- Painter of the Year (2013)
Outstanding Artist by (AAP) PEGASI Albania
- November Salon - Pristina
- January Flame - Gjilan, etc...

Besides painting, Idriz Berisha (Xhixhi) also deals with poetry.
So far, he has published 5 books of poetry.
Idriz is included in several anthologies and in two Encyclopedias (AASHK Encyclopedic Dictionary) as well as in that of the Albanian-American Academy of Sciences...
The prize has been awarded in several literary competitions: BARDI I, from LSHK as well as from many other competitions, from literary associations in Albanian spaces.
